What is the purpose of a dining table?
A dining table is used to hold food and drinks; it is usually in the center of any dinner party.
What components comprise a typical dining table?
At least two legs, or posts that form the base under most of its area. The tabletop which is where people place food and drinks. The tabletop can be made out of different materials such as wood, metal and glass.
Several different types of dining tables can be found below.
-Picnic table: A smaller version of the dining table that is designed for eating outside. This type of dining can be done at home or in a park setting, and usually only has the tabletop area to eat off of.
-Console table: Dining tables with one leg in the center and two shorter legs on either side. The tabletop is usually made of glass or metal, and the legs are often simple rectangular shapes that are visible underneath it.
-Baker’s table: A dining table with one long leg in the middle which supports most of the weight, while the other three legs support less area around the edges only. This type of dining table is sometimes used in kitchens and/or bakeries because of its shape and durability.
-High dining table: A long rectangular table that usually seats the majority of a dinner party, and has more surface area on it for placing foods and drinks.
Why should I use tablecloths?
